Ok, these pics came out backwards, but you get the point! I don't feel like fixing them! Ha!
This is the one meal I can fix and my entire family thinks I am "Chef Julie". I mean it so flipping simple I feel ashamed when Lance raves about it to people, "Julie makes the best hamburger steak and gravy over rice". Then they look at me and say, "How do you make the gravy"? and I reply, "I open a can of cream of mushroom soup! Wait, I add salt and pepper too"! Ha!
Ok, starting with the bottom pic and moving your way up just brown the patties on both sides for about 5 minutes each side. (does not have to be cooked all the way through) Pour in one can of cream of mushroom soup (my family likes 2, makes more gravy). Add a little salt and pepper and bring the heat high enough to get the gravy bubbling a little bit, then turn the heat down to a simmer and cover for 30 minutes. I stir it once or twice during that 30 minutes, maybe flip the meat over. Meanwhile, make your rice, green beans and biscuits. There you go! The top pic is a "fancy" version. We have been known to layer it all in a bowl, biscuit too and cover with the sauce! This can also be used with low fat soup and/or brown rice, noodles or mashed potatoes.
Cash eats his green beans chopped up and mixed in. He never knows he is eating them!
Enjoy! Ashley, send me pics next time you make this and I will blog it! ;o)
Sorry my pictures aren't amazing, but I love to cook, and I love Viv's Blog with the recipes and I hope to share some of our favorites for our family and friends to see!
