This is Me Then has ran out of steam! I am taking a much needed break from the online world to focus on my health, my family and my schooling. I hope to be back with some fun blogs at the end of October.
God Bless!
Remember I Change From Day to Day
My daughter, a 5th grader, has been friends with a special little girl since they were in Kindergarten. They even have the same last name and would joke that they MUST be related somehow!
Well, her friend turned 11 and is celebrating her birthday this week with her best girlfriends! The reason I feel like this relationship is so special is because the birthday girl, due to her religion, doesn't watch television. She finds GREAT pleasure in listening to "Old" radio shows from Dale Evans and Roy Rogers.
So, what did we do? We went to Etsy.com of course and found these awesome gifts! A purse, journal cover and original hardback book from the 1950's.
I have the sweetest friend ever named Sarah! She and I met I guess its been 3 years now, through playgroup! I have always loved Sarah and admired her commitment to her husband and her children, but, I always thought she seemed a bit quiet or shy! Boy, was I wrong!
She has the same passion I have, all things Twilight! She actually took my daughter to the midnight DVD release of Twilight after a Taylor Swift concert. She called and asked if it was Ok and that Taylor wanted to buy a copy. I said sure, whatever!
I belong to a sisterhood called OME. Its a Sorority that has one common factor, we love all things Twilight! Yes, I said it, Twilight!
If you can notice in some of the pics we are all wearing matching crests. A way to spot one another or to remind us that someone is always thinking about us.
These ladies are from all over the city and had never met me before that night and they were so warm and welcoming. Like one giant book club for women that have the Twilight bug.
We all exchanged gifts and stories and have plans to spend more time together as the holidays roll around.
You might ask how I could possibly have time to join in to something like this, but that's just it. I am making time. I am making a commitment to have a network around me that not just in my normal comfort zone. It's out of the box, or the volvo, so to speak!
Fun Salt and Pepper shakers I found at a nearby trade days!
Love this Tea container! Found it at Home Goods!
"Oh, when oh when is Mr. This is Me, Then going to get my kitchen painted"?
Set your crockpot on High and place your roast of choice (it doesn't matter with this recipe, it will be tender no matter what) on the bottom, pour all your frozen veggies on top, and sprinkle one bag of Lipton Recipe Secrets Soup Mix over the entire thing. I always use Beefy Onion, but I have used mushroom and the plain onion one. Both work great as well.
Now, the frozen veggies I use, I have always found at a local supermarket (Arlans). It says vegetables for stew, but you could buy individual bags of the veggies you want to use, or chop them fresh. We LOVE this bag.
The veggies are still frozen, I feel this adds juice and also you can use a FROZEN roast. Its OK! It actually adds more juice as well.
